Escrima Sticks
Escrima, also known as Kali or Arnis, is the national Martial Art of the Philippines, with traditional escrima sticks being the weapon of choice when training or sparring. Derived from the Spanish word for fencing, stick fighting is a form of combat where practitioners use handheld wooden sticks to fight one another. Similar to sword fighting, many Filipino techniques focus on defending against, and reacting to, angles of attack, rather than particular strikes.
Typically used in the Filipino martial arts, escrima sticks are the weapon of choice for many fans of the stick fighting arts. In the Philippines, escrima is a style similar to sword fighting and is sometimes referred to as Kali or Arnis de Mano.
