Chest Guards

Chest Guards are an important piece of safety gear that is used in sparring, karate, and taekwondo. Often required in competitions, chest guards serve to protect vital body areas such as your ribs, kidneys, stomach, and shoulders, from strikes and kicks.

Some chest guards, like the taekwondo hogu, are reversible and have two different-colored sides to identify different competitors or teams in tournaments. In many cases, tournaments will mandate the use of approved gear. For example, the Punok Chest Guard is World Karate Federation and Panamerican Karate Federation approved, and can be used in any tournament overseen by those entities.
